James Gunn Defends the Captain America Twist
It looks like everybody is throwing in their two cents regarding the latest Captain America twist! If you haven’t read the comic or if you care about spoilers, I would turn away now! You are still here? Good! James Gunn, the famous director of Guardians of the Galaxy, took to social media to express his opinions regarding the latest Captain America twist. If you are unfamiliar with what we are talking about then refer to the latest Captain America comic book. In said comic book, Captain America / Steve Rogers announces that he has always been an agent of HYDRA and there-for, a Nazi. Appropriately, the internet and people have lost their freaking minds! Who would have thought people would have cared so much about a comic book? /sarcasm
“If you’re a forty-year-old dude claiming a comics company ruined your childhood because of a plot twist, you might consider that your childhood really wasn’t that great to begin with,” said James Gunn. Instantly, a discussion occurred on his Facebook and Twitter feed as people discussed the Captain America twist.
“I think saying something so trite is a slap in the face to the creators is a slap in the face to the creators,” James Gunn added. “Simon and Kirby’s lives and works are a lot bigger than this one issue of a comic book. This argument seems like it’s reaching for a reason to be outraged as well as being a rather offensive exploitation of Joe Simon and Jack Kirby’s very real struggles.” Sounds like the Guardians of the Galaxy director wants to see how the Captain America twist will turn out! Either way, people can’t seem to get enough of this news…a Nazi Captain America? MADNESS!
