Five Dead Characters We Still Miss Very Much!

Peter Pan once said, “To die would be an awfully big adventure.” Still, that doesn’t mean we like seeing it happen! Death is a natural part of life that’s utilized often in fiction for the sake of drama. But when it’s utilized to remove a beloved character from an engaging story, we can’t deny the sense of real loss. And this loss comparable to losing an actual family member? It lingers, and it lingers long. So, as a tribute to those characters whose abrupt endings hurt like a mother-effer, we present our list of 5 dead characters we still miss very much.

And I mean (**sniff-sniff**)…very much.

[SPOILERS AHEAD]

  1. Dinobot

In the very beginning of Beast Wars: Transformers, the heroic Maximals got an unexpected ally in the form of Dinobot. At first, it seemed Dinobot only joined them to suit his own needs, but over time he proved his worth as a true member of the team. Unfortunately, Dinobot met his end when he went to stop the Predacons from wiping out humanity in the past.

In the end, Dinobot sacrificed himself to take down Megatron and the entire platoon and Megatron to safeguard history. A true warrior’s death maybe, but that doesn’t make it any less sad!

  1. Andrea (Walking Dead Comics)

Nope, this isn’t the one from the TV show. In the comics, Andrea was a sharp shooter for Rick’s group who managed to survive a very long time. She overcame many hardships and eventually hooked up with Rick long after Lori died. Sadly, her good luck wouldn’t last forever.

While saving fellow survivor Eugene, she was bitten by a walker and became one since Rick was unwilling to shoot her!

After seeing her go through so much, fans wanted her to survive, but it wasn’t meant to be. Instead, everyone gave a tearful goodbye to Andrea as she slowly succumbed to the infection and was put down. It was a sad end to a great character who os sorely missed.

3. Professor X

In a world where mutants are hated and feared, Charles Xavier stood for coexistence! Despite all the individuals — human or not — that stood against him, his dream inspired the creation of the X-Men.

Any chance Xavier had of seeing that dream come true disappeared when he was murdered by former student Cyclops. Since then, mutants have had to fight tooth and nail for their survival against forces that demand their destruction.

Meanwhile, the X-Men moved on to continue the fight without Xavier’s guidance. We still hold out hope that there may come a day when mutants and humans can live in peace. Until then, the future of Mutanity feels all the more grim without the man who fought the hardest for mutant equality!

  1. Han Solo

A classic character from a beloved franchise, Han Solo has always been a fan favorite! After so many adventures with Luke, Leia, and the Rebel Alliance, we were looking forward to his continuing adventures! Eventually, our prayers were answered when we learned about The Force Awakens. Little did we know, this would be the last time we’d see this iconic space outlaw.

Han Solo met his end trying to console Kylo Ren, his son that turned to the Dark Side; Kylo Ren stabbed him with his lightsaber before throwing him off a bridge! After everything he’s lived through, it’s heartbreaking to know that a popular character like Han is gone for good. This galaxy far, far away feels a lot emptier without him!

  1. Wolverine

A mutant, an X-Man, an Avenger, a samurai, a hero — if you can think it, Wolverine probably already did it. With his healing factor, it felt like this was the one Marvel character that was immune to death. Oh, how wrong we were!

During the Death of Wolverine storyline, Logan loses his healing powers but goes on one last mission. Logan succeeds, but dies after being covered in liquid adamantium, suffocating as it hardens.

Luckily, we have had characters like X-23 and Old Man Logan to fill the void. However, something is still missing — we miss the original Wolverine and hope he comes back one day! Whether that day will come sooner or later is anyone’s guess. All we can do is enjoy what we have now and wait for his return.
