Yes, X-Men: Apocalypse takes place in the 1980s, specifically 1983. Because of this, the promotional folks behind the forthcoming X-Film are taking complete advantage of the unique, cultural aesthetic of a decade that granted us feathered hair, neon cut-off shirts, and white, oversized dress jackets worn with sleeves pushed up just below the elbow.
