RUMOR MILL: Justice League Dark Has Their Constantine

Take this with a grain of salt, but Latino Review is currently circulating a rather ‘hot rumor’ as they call it. Now, I’m only biting because I’m a huge John Constantine fan but ever since legendary monster director Guillermo Del Toro dropped out of the project and the Suicide Squad is currently garnering praise, Warner Brothers have looked to speed up the process of the Justice League: Dark film which is currently called, ‘Dark Universe’. Just know that I write this with my fingers crossed hopping up and down. Don’t ask how I’m writing at the same time. Now is not the time for that!

According to the source, “Guillermo Del Toro wanted Ron Perlman to play Swamp Thing and thus far everyone seems to agree that’s still a good idea. The studio disagreed with Del Toro’s choice to play John Constantine and is seeking A-List talent. Right now the front runner for the part looks like Colin Farrell, who is currently shooting Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them with the studio. However, Ewan McGregor has also been approached for the same part. It’s possible that the one that doesn’t get the role of John Constantine could fall back to Jason Blood, the human side of Etrigan. For Deadman, Warner Bros is looking for a comedic presence and for Zatanna, they’re still searching for Hispanic/African actress to fill the role. Right now, Monica Belluci looks like the top choice to play magic user Madame Xanadu.” Damn. A-List actor? I guess I won’t be seeing Matt Ryan reprise his role, even though he was a spot on John Constantine. Just because a certain big network employs a bunch of dummies who canceled the Constantine show doesn’t mean Matt Ryan was the bad part! It was their mistake putting it on at 10-freaking o’clock on a Friday. JEEZ! Okay, so rant over. Still happy they are going forward with a Justice League Dark film!
