The Name of Luke’s Planet at the End of Star Wars: The Force Awakens!
Think you know what planet Luke Skywalker was on at the end of The Force Awakens? Chances are, you are probably wrong! Tython? Rakata Prime? Some planet in the Deep Core? Nah! You would be wrong with any of those guesses. This is one of those times that knowing the ‘expanded’ universe gets you into trouble. (Raises fist and curses Disney)
Apparently, the new planet is called ‘Ahch-To’! No, not Dave Chappelle’s character in Robin Hood: Men in Tights! Yeah, I made the same mistake, too. Pablo Hidalgo, the person in charge of cannon over at Disney, took to Twitter to confirm that the name of ‘Ahch-To’ was correct. Say, how do you get the job of ‘in-charge of cannon’ at Lucasfilm? Any-who, if you mosey on over to the Star Wars Wiki they have this to say about the newly established planet.
“Ahch-To was an aquatic planet which served, three decades after the Galactic Civil War, as the home to Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, who went into exile seeking the first Jedi Temple after his new generation of Jedi were killed by the Knights of Ren. Ahch-To had numerous islands, which Skywalker sought out during his exile. After the Resistance pieced together two map fragments to reveal Skywalker’s location, Rey traveled to Ahch-To in the Millennium Falcon accompanied by R2-D2 and Chewbacca, in search of him.” They certainly didn’t waste any time filling in that Wiki Stub, did they? How do you feel about this planet? I was hoping it was going to be Tython but I had heard it could also be Rakata Prime, both planets in the Star Wars universe to be known to host a tremendous deal of the Force. I guess I shouldn’t hold out for a character with the last name of ‘Shan’.
