X-Men’s Simon Kinberg Speaks on ‘Culmination’
The above video features X-Men producer Simon Kinberg speaking on how X-Men Apocalypse fits into the side-boot ‘trilogy’. When I use that term I am referring to First Class and Days of Futures Past and it appears that it is the general consensus that those movies are separate from X-Men, X2, and Last Stand. One might even joke that Last Stand and Wolverine:Origins were so bad that they had to reboot the entire universe…and for all intents and purposes, they did! Actually, we could spend all day trying to figure out the X-Men universe so let’s just continue, shall we?
“It feels like the culmination of the four main characters really — McAvoy, Fassbender, Nic Hoult, and Jen. And it’s a bigger movie in both physical scale and I would say emotional stakes too because it is the culmination of this mini trilogy of stories,” said Kinberg. What makes all of this so interesting is that there are a couple of characters and actors who are done after Apocalypse so where will the X-Men movies end up? Will we see another Phoenix Saga…perhaps this time with more space-tomfoolery? Or perhaps we will see an ‘Old Man Logan’ arc! What are your thoughts and what would you like to see from the X-Men?
