GOTG Vol. 2 Director James Gunn Apparently Pitched a Moon Knight Movie
Yep, that’s right; James Gunn, the Director responsible for bringing us a wonderfully whimsical, live-action iteration of the Guardians of the Galaxy (and the so-close-it-hurts Vol. 2), is such a fan of Khonshu’s conflicted fist, he actually pitched a Moon Knight movie to Marvel Studios. How did we come upon such wondrous news? Via Twitter, of course.
A fan beseeched* Gunn to include Moon Knight in a future Guardians film, and Gunn’s response was a little surprising:
Oh my God I love Moon Knight & I have a great idea for a movie, I just wish I had the time (but, no, he doesn’t belong in Guardians). https://t.co/ARJCPh62gt

A representative from MCU News beseeched* Gunn to take his idea and propose it to Marvel Studios. Apparently, Gunn already did.
“I told them. But, like I said, I just don’t have the time.”
So, he doesn’t have the time. Well, perhaps his schedule will open up once the Guardians die at the hand of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. JOKING!
There were rumors ricocheting around the inter-webs about a host of superhero-centric television series being considered by Marvel/Netflix, and Moon Knight was one such property under consideration. However, those rumors never manifested, so for the foreseeable future, the story of mercenary Marc Spector’s brutal vigilantism rationalized by divine possession will have to wait for any sort of live-action translation.
