Deadpool Movie Tracking Points to #1

Cha-ching! Typically, movie-services start tracking movies three weeks before their release date and lo and behold, we are now in Deadpool territory! What does that mean? Will we see the Regenerating Degenerate make a ton of money or will it fizzle out, only propelled by fanboys? Apparently it is the first option! Current estimates have the Deadpool movie taking in between 50 to 60 million over the Valentine’s Day weekend. Deadpool is favored by both genders equally and it is the first choice among female. Things are sounding pretty good for Marvel’s Merc with a Mouth!

Deadpool faces competition from Ben Stiller’s Zoolander 2 which is tracking somewhere in the 20 to 30 million dollar range. Valentine’s Day had a fairly big haul last year as well with Fifty Shades of Grey taking in 94 million (what’s wrong with you people) and Kingsmen making 41.8 million. Joking aside, the Deadpool movie may set a new precedent when it comes to R-rated comic book movies. Deadpool hits theaters on February 12, 2016 and stars Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T. J. Miller, Gina Carano, Brianna Hildebrand, Stefan Kapičić, and Leslie Uggams. Oh and in case you didn’t hear…the Deadpool movie is connected to the other FOX movie franchises…like the upcoming Gambit movie and the other X-Men films!
