David Ayer, the Maestro of the highly anticipated Suicide Squad film, was recently recruited to direct a fantasy-themed cop drama called Bright which also stars Will Smith. Having worked together previously, David Ayer made one statement regarding the time table in which to film Bright. What would the aforementioned statement be? That apparently himself and Will Smith would have to be back to WB at some point in 2017 to film Suicide Squad 2! Whoa, we haven’t even seen the movie yet! Hopefully this isn’t a case of the most recent Fantastic Four though I highly doubt it will be. That latest trailer for the Suicide Squad was probably better than that entire movie. Sorry Trank!
We’ve already heard that initial reports of Suicide Squad have been glowing (as well as a positive buzz) and considering the unexpected success of Deadpool, it would make perfect sense to give the go-ahead to Suicide Squad. What’s better than one anti-hero? How about a whole team of them…and the Joker shows up! That’s probably how they pitched Suicide Squad 2 to the movie executives would be my guess. Joking aside, Suicide Squad comes out August 5th and stars Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ike Barinholtz, and Scott Eastwood.
