Hooray! We have yet another fantastic animated DC film starring the duo that really helped to kick it all off; Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill! Oh, I suppose I should also mention Bruce Timm…considering he brought them together in the first place. Joking aside, the above video is for Batman: The Killing Joke. Batman: The Killing Joke was originally a graphic novel back in 1988 and was written by Alan Moore. Alan Moore, who also happened to pen such greats as Swamp Thing and Watchmen, took Batman: The Killing Joke in a dark and drastic direction. It was really Alan Moore who helped turn the Caped Crusader into the Dark Knight!
Starring Kevin Conroy, Mark Hamill, Tara Strong, and Ray Wise, Batman: The Killing Joke will premiere at San Diego Comic Con and then released direct to video at a later date…so you won’t even need to run out to the theater to see this bad boy! It should also be noted that this film is rated R which is pretty interesting for an animated flick…and then you realize what the source content is. Yeah, I think I would have been surprised if they managed to get it down to a PG-13!
