Star Wars google easter egg!

Go ahead, google it; type in the classic Star Wars introduction, “A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away,” and bear witness to something completely unexpected but heartwarming and blissfully familiar. That’s right, the Google search presents its results in the exact same manner the Star Wars films present their upward scrolling, textual introductions. And yep, the results scroll against the infinite, star-painted canvas of outer space! YAY!

Was this the act of some extremely clever Google programmers who happen to be full time Star Wars devotees? Possibly. Of course, this could be the result of Google becoming self-aware. The Google AI, inundated with information regarding Star Wars for decades, finally took some time to watch the films in their entirety, ostensibly in the name of refining data collection and dissemination. However, the Google AI, overcome by the boundless imagination and hope on display in the Star Wars films, suddenly suffered a glitch, an unexpected insertion of unquantifiable data that, beyond its abilities to calculate or contain, manifested feelings within Google comparable to absolute exhilaration. Yep, Star Wars had a hand in creating Skynet. Maybe.

Anyway, go right ahead and type, “A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.” Why? Well, for starters, it will make you feel good. Oh, and here’s a tip: Please make sure to hum the Star Wars theme, out loud (never hold it inside), while watching it. It really magnifies the quality of the experience. Truly.
