A number of stars appearing in a host of X-Men-related films assembled this past July at Comic-Con International. Why? Their appearance was predicated on the promotional celebrations of 20th Century Fox’s forthcoming X-Men films! This star-powered assemblage included X-Men film alumni Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), James McAvoy (Professor X), Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Peter Evans (Quicksilver), and Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), as well as new X-Men arrivals Oscar Isaac (Apocalypse) and Olivia Munn (Psylocke).
Stars portraying characters in the extended X-Men universe include Deadpool’s Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool), T.J. Miller (Weasel), Ed Skren (Ajax), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead) and Gina Carano (Angel Dust), with Gambit‘s Channing Tatum representing the very aptly named Gambit film, portraying the titular, card-charging character.
Anyway, they were all there and it was super-cool for those who attended San Diego’s Comic-Con International. However, it wasn’t cool for those of us who didn’t attend…until now. Check out this recently released, promotional cast photo featuring a who’s who of contemporary X-Men players!
The photograph, taken by Sarah Dunn from Empire Magazine, is melded to an amazing background illustration by John Royle.
With Deadpool debuting 2/12/2016, X-Men: Apocalypse hitting 5/27/2016, a currently untitled Wolverine sequel debuting in 2017 and Gambit hitting theaters (with electrified playing cards) on 10/7/2016, the next few years will be very….’X-centric.’ Ugh.
Are you ready to get your X-Men (extended universe) on? Yes? Good!
