Initially, when I first approached writing this article, I was going to introduce it thusly: “Check out the brand spankin’ new Suicide Squad trailer ripped from tonight’s DC Films’ TV special like Harley Quinn – heavily anesthetized but still kicking – being ripped from the psychotic arms of her ornately painted puddin’! HUZZAH!
Anyway, check it out! It’s Harley (love her!), Joker (Jason??), Killer Croc, Deadshot (Del Spooner?), Boomerang, Slipknot (the band?), Rick Flag, Katana, El Diablo and…a bunch of other unfortunate DC Villains whose heads exploded somewhere off-camera since…uh….the mission went awry.
YES! Here they are, removed from their current states of lifelong internment and taken under the wing of a clandestine, government-sanctioned organization happy to lose its operatives to friendly fire! Oh, and it all happens to the music of Queen’s anthemic pop-opera, “Bohemian Rhapsody.” YES!
Suicide Squad debuts Aug. 5, 2016, starring Jared Leto as the Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Karen Fukuhara as Katana, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Jay Hernandez as El Diablo and Adam Beach as Slipknot. It also stars Batman on the hood of a car for like, .000054 seconds. He’s gritting his teeth and growling at Harley to check the front right tire. It’s a little low and she’ll ruin the rim.
