DC is seeing tons of love! Last night saw a special hosted on CW by both super-fanboy Kevin Smith (of Silent Bob fame) and Geoff Johns (of DC Executive fame). What did this special focus on? Well, the DC Cinematic Universe of course! Should we start capitalizing that? Is that a proper name? Either way, the DCEU had the spotlight shone on it and, lo, it was good. We saw new images for Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman while seeing info on Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg AND we got an epic Suicide Squad trailer (holy run-on sentence, Batman!). Pretty sweet, right? However, this whole Justice League seemed to be missing a certain green colored cornerstone…
“We’ve been to these cities, we’ve been underwater, but there’s one place we haven’t been to: space. But now we are,” said Geoff Johns. “So the Green Lanterns and the Green Lantern Corps are coming to join the Justice League universe.” Kevin Smith immediately replied, “That’s every kids dream to see all those Justice League characters together and Green Lantern is a big part.” The above video is the exact clip from the show and as implied by the images it looks like we will be seeing Hal Jordan, Kyle Rayner, John Stewart, Simon Baz, and Guy Gardner! Aww, no Alan Scott? Damn. Oh well! Still, the Green Lantern standalone movie is scheduled for a 2020 release so we may see that cast change a bit.
