If you thought you had to wait till summer for the next big comic event, Marvel has some good news for you: Marvel’s Avengers Standoff event is coming to comic book stores very soon.
While not too much is known about this event, what we do know is that the story revolves around a little place called Pleasant Hill, a seemingly peaceful town that holds a dark secret; a threat so large it will need two Captain Americas united to stop it.
In recent comics, Sam Wilson, the current Captain America, had a falling out with his old friend Steve Rogers. Thankfully, the secret behind Pleasant Hills is so sinister it’ll reunite the two, and I can’t wait to see just what this secret is.
Avengers Standoff will span across multiple Avengers titles (which include All-New All-Different Avengers, Uncanny Avengers, and New Avengers) as well as other books like Captain America: Sam Wilson, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Howling Commandos of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Standoff officially begins this March, but if you can’t stand waiting till then, Marvel is also releasing a prelude comic, Welcome to Pleasant Hill, on February 17th to give us all a sneak peak of what’s to come. Needless to say it’s a good feeling to know that we don’t have to wait till summer for the first major event story in All-New All-Different Marvel.
With an event this large in scope something big could happen that might change how we see the Marvel Universe; there’s bound to be a change or two to come out of this event. But who or what will change and why? We’ll just have to find out.
So assemble your team of Avengers, call in your agents, and rally your commandos for Avengers Standoff because once the gates to Pleasant Hill are opened, they might never be closed again.
