Yesterday, we read that Morgan Freeman thinks the Batman Trilogy he starred in would be hard to be beat. On the flip side of that, apparently Christian Bale wasn’t all that happy with his performance of the quintessential Dark Knight! While speaking with Yahoo, Christian Bale said, “I didn’t quite manage what I hoped I would throughout the trilogy. Chris (Nolan) did, but my own sense of self is like, ‘I didn’t quite nail it.”
Christian Bale is nefariously known for being somewhat difficult to work with so at least he extends that kind of brutality to his own work! Remember that poor lighting guy? Exactly! However, the former Caped Crusader specifically mentioned Heath Ledger as having an impact on what he wanted to do with the character. “Heath turned up, and just kind of completely ruined all my plans,” Bale stated. “Because I went, ‘He’s so much more interesting than me and what I’m doing.’” I guess it is somewhat hard to be a super-awesome Batman with somebody like Heath Ledger running around as the Joker. The late Ledger totally dominated that movie and it is highly regarded as one of the best comic book movies of all time.
