The world’s most powerful mutant will rise again. X-Men: Apocalypse will hit theaters on May 27th and fans couldn’t be more hyped up. Some have waited years to see the first mutant on the big screen and now all that waiting will finally pay off when the X-Men will face Apocalypse himself for the fate of all humanity. However, there might be some out there who are a little more confused why so many fans are excited for this film in particular. If you don’t know already or want a second opinion, then you’ve come to the right place. Why? Because we have a few reasons why we’re excited for X-Men: Apocalypse! And these reasons should apply to YOU as well!
1. Given the good streak of recent X-Men movies, I would say that Apocalypse has a great chance of doing as well, if not better, than previous entries in the franchise. The recent films seem to have this nice progression between the sequels, with First Class being about mutants versus mutants (normal X-Men stuff), Days of Future Past raising the stakes to saving the future from the Sentinels, and now Apocalypse which has the entire world hanging in the balance. Seeing that Apocalypse is the strongest enemy in the X-Men’s rogues gallery, I’d say that we’ll see our favorite team of mutants in for the fight of their lives.
2. Apocalypse could also be setting the stage for how future X-Men movies will play out. With Days of Future Past changing the history of the other films and Hugh Jackman set to retire from the role of Wolverine, it’s safe to say things are going to be different going forward. With Apocalypse as powerful as he is, along with those who follow him, it’s clear the events of this movie will be nothing less than huge. Additionally, this film could have a big impact on the characters that will carry over in sequels to come. We’ll just have to see for ourselves to find out what.
3. One thing I myself am looking forward to (and maybe some of you out there, too) is the fact that some classic X-Men are getting their time to shine. Since a lot of the movies have revolved around Wolverine, some other X-Men members haven’t had a lot of time to “wow” audiences.  But since Wolverine has a noticeably reduced role in this movie, I think characters like Cyclops and Nightcrawler will have enough time to do something amazing this time around.
Whether you’re a longtime fan or a recent newcomer, X-Men: Apocalypse is shaping up to be a mutant explosion of epic proportions! Either way, we’re hyped for the intimidating power of the villain, the stakes that have been raised and the tons of action on the way!
