X-Men: Apocalypse Trailer is Here!

Here it is, the X-Men: Apocalypse Trailer! 20th Century Fox just released the X-Men: Apocalypse trailer! It was supposed to debut in front of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but it’s here a little early. Are we complaining? OF COURSE NOT!

Apocalypse is the very first mutant; he’s a god-like, ancient being whose ominous return portends terrible things for Charles Xavier and the gang. In fact, his return freaks out Jean Gray (she’s sensitive to these things) as she suffers from terrible visions of worldwide destruction. Xavier attempts to placate Jean, dismissing her visions as the stuff of nightmares, but, well, as previously stated, Jean’s (psi-)sensitive to these things.

Yep, Apocalypse is coming, and to Xavier’s dismay he’s been around a while, accumulating power and a somewhat fanatical following; he’s the focal point of secret cults regarding mutants as representatives of a divine second coming.

Apocalypse is back. He was the first mutant, the progenitor of ‘Mutanity.’ As such, he feels a responsibility to those who share the gift-giving mutant gene. Is he happy with the current state of mutant affairs in a world that, more often than not, hates and fears them? No, he is absolutely not. What’s a newly resurrected mutant with the power of a god going to do when his gifted children are imperiled? Why, he’s going to recruit four exceptionally powered mutants as his ‘Four Horseman’ and kick the living crap out of humanity. Yep, that’s what he’s going to do.

X-Men: Apocalypse debuts May 26, 2016, starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Olivia Munn, Lucas Till, Evan Peters, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Alexandra Shipp, Josh Helman, Lana Condor and Ben Hardy. Oh, and it also stars thousands of pathetic humans unable to conceive of a struggle between highly evolved being, let alone survive it.
