Gotham. Whether or not you read comics or watch Gotham you can get excited about this tidbit of news! Apparently, we’ll be seeing one of the best parts of Scott Snyder’s New 52 Batman Series from DC Comics, because the famed Court of Owls will be making an appearance in Gotham!
Bruno Heller, Gotham showrunner, stated this during a recent interview:
“We are absolutely going to explore that world down the line. Looking at the longevity of the show, we have to hold some cards back, we can’t just throw all of the elements, all of the story at once. The long arc of the show is Bruce Wayne’s journey of discovery down into the depths of the physical and meta-physical world of Gotham. The Court of Owls is a brilliant conceit that will absolutely be part of our storytelling. I just won’t tell you when.”
The Court of Owls is a centuries old clandestine organization inside of Gotham that is made up of powerful and influential members and they act through their highly trained agent-assassins, the Talons. If you’ve never read any of the recent Batman comics I suggest picking those up! You won’t be disappointed. As far as them appearing in Gotham? I think it is a great idea to have this relatively new comic concept cemented in popular culture already. When something new works you have to run with it, right?
A movie or cartoon series?
