Wondering where all this Captain America: Civil War business is coming from? Is this a brand new story conceived by Marvel’s cinematic creators, a natural evolution of the characters’ journey after the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron? Well, yes (to a natural evolution) and no (to a brand new story). Captain America: Civil War is actually based on the comic series simply titled Civil War, released between 2006 and 2007. Written by Mark Millar with art by Steve McNiven, Civil War focused on the introduction of the Superhero Registration Act – passed down by the government and enforced by Iron Man – after a bit of reckless ‘super-heroing’ resulted in the destruction of a public school. I could say more, but there’s this handy video (above) explaining Marvel’s Civil War in less than four minutes. Take it away, entertaining, educational cartoon!
Who made this especially informative bit of humorously stiff animation? That would be our friends at Bite-Size Comics.
My favorite bit? The giant cloud stuffed with a veritable army of Marvel’s Finest duking it out in the Negative Zone. AÂ frenzy of fists popping out of a dust cloud is something that references….every single Bugs Bunny cartoon.
