YAY! Disney recently released another trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens! Specifically, this is a Star Wars: The Force Awakens new TV spot trailer…for TV! YAY!
Although a lot of this Star Wars: The Force Awakens new TV spot trailer looks familiar, there are certainly a few noticeable milliseconds of fresh footage: Kylo Ren deflecting some blaster bolts; a close-up study of an extremely concerned Han Solo; one hell of a spaceship dogfight and the appearance of Rey behind the controls of a craft, something she may not have a lot of experience with.
The narration pervading this brand new footage is equally new and notable, provided by the character Maz Kanata, as portrayed by Academy Award-winning actress, Lupita Nyong’o.
“I have lived long enough to see the same eyes in different people. I see your eyes. I know your eyes.”
This sounds like someone who’s seen it all before, who may have first-hand knowledge regarding the resurfacing darkness and the kind of person (or persons) it takes to quell said darkness. Someone who knows the longing, confusion, anticipation and heart-crushing, incendiary hopelessness one experiences while in the midst of discovering personal identity against a backdrop of galactic upheaval.
Is it possible to be even more excited about Star Wars: The Force Awakens? Honestly, I thought I already hit my own personal ceiling of maximum excitement. However, after seeing this brand new TV spot…Well, let’s just say the ceiling has been breached. Oh, and I may have a slight concussion and shattered collarbone due to smashing through said ceiling at about mach 3.
