So let’s take a head count so far in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. We have Batman and Superman, of course, but we also have the Mother-of-All-Xenas Wonder Woman, the Fastest Man from The Perks of Being A Wallflower Flash, the I-Can-Never-Put-My-Cell-Phone-Down Cyborg, the leader of a bunch of murder-vikings who dies from an infected boo-boo Aquaman, the ‘hopefully you don’t remember my last movie’ Green Lantern facing off against the likes of Michael Shannon Doomsday(wasn’t he already scary enough?) and neurotic Facebook-guy Jesse Eisenberg. There’s no chance of more characters or another villain showing up, right? RIGHT?
Oh hell. I guess we might be seeing yet another classic villain from DC. What does that symbol mean? Are the Green Lanterns attempting to contact aliens again with crop circles? Look, if the Nazca Lines weren’t going to work I don’t think that is going to, Hal. For the more astute comic book fans, you’ll know that is the symbol for DC Comics’ New God, Darkseid! No, that isn’t a spelling mistake…that’s his actual name! Created by legendary Jack Kirby back when everybody had iron curtains, Darkseid is a monster who can easily play a game of punch-face with Superman and probably win. He would definitely provide a sufficient baddie for the assmebled Justice League to face off that’s for sure.
So, do you think we’ll see Darkseid in this Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice? I’m thinking probably not…well, not in the literal sense. If you look at that picture, it looks like somebody is overlooking a ruined world. I’m thinking that this is that dream-sequence / prophecy that we see Mad-Max Batman in a bunk in. That trailer also shows off what appears to be Parademons so if it was a ‘possible future’ sort of thing it would make sense for Darkseid to have laid claim to the world. Guess we will have to wait till the end of March, eh?
