It’s Captain America: Civil War TV Spot #40 (but it seems like # 2040) featuring a lamenting Captain America remembering a time before he and Iron Man were beating the ever loving super-sh*t out of each other. Well, Cap, harboring known terrorists or refusing accountability after ravaging 75 city blocks might lead to a little contention among your teammates, specifically one very well versed in the liberal usage of weapons of mass destruction. So, it’s Team Cap vs. Team Iron Man in this new Civil War spot where a reminiscing cap says, “Tony, we used to be family.” Stark’s response? “I don’t care.” Uh-oh.
It appears this whole Civil War between ideologies cuts deep. After the dust settles, the smoke clears, and thousands of bodies are recovered from the wreckage, one has to wonder if the Avengers will ever collectively avenge again. Hell, Cap might not make it out alive if the story follows the source material. Good grief, I’m going to love every second of this film but it might step on my heart a good 63 times before wearing it on a necklace.
Captain America: Civil War opens on May 6th, 2016 and stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Renner, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Emily VanCamp, Tom Holland, Frank Grillo, William Hurt, and Daniel Brühl.
