Confirmed Deadpool Sequel Will Definitely Star [SPOILER]!

Yes, you’re already aware the Deadpool sequel has received the green light (if you weren’t….THE DEADPOOL SEQUEL HAS RECEIVED THE GREEN LIGHT!), and Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Zombieland) are already hard a work hashing out the sequel’s sure to be slap-tastic, sardonic script! And why wouldn’t the sequel be fast-tracked into production? Heck, the first movie hasn’t even hit theaters yet and it’s already tracking to make a ridiculous, ungodly amount of ‘moolah’ (cash money): 65 million over the upcoming four-day domestic holiday weekend. Yep, touting that kind of promising return might entice any studio to book a sequel before the initial film’s release.

Yes, this is great news and all is right with the world, however, there’s more. Our friends at ComicBook.com recently confirmed an oft-rumored, fan-familiar co-star’s appearance in the forthcoming second Deadpool film. So, who is this mysterious character with extremely close ties to Deadpool’s kaleidoscopic, comic book exploits? It’s none other than Cable, the cantankerous, time-hopping mutant who also happens to be the son of Scott Summers (Cyclops) and Madelyne Pryor (because Jean Grey was dead, okay??). Yep, Cable and Deadpool were quite a team with an incredible dynamic generated by Deadpool’s erratic insanity bouncing off Cable’s grim solemnity. YES!

How did the character’s confirmation come about? Apparently, one of the post-credits scenes featured Deadpool mentioning the shiny-eyed mutant by name; no visual confirmation, but he did confirm Cable’s inclusion in the forthcoming sequel. YES!
