“Simon and I have been trying to build bridges,” said Tim Miller of Deadpool fame in regards to a Deadpool and Spider-Man movie crossover. The Simon he was referring to is Simon Kinberg, who is one of the head honchos of the X-Men movie franchise and has also produced for Star Wars: Rebels. Most have understood this to mean that there is already a channel for getting a Deadpool and Spider-Man movie off the ground! Considering how Sony still has the rights to Spider-Man and yet he has ‘returned’ to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, could FOX work something out with Sony?
“I would love to see it. Both of us are close with [Marvel’s] Kevin [Feige], we respect and love Kevin. If it were even remotely possible, we will find a way ’cause we’d would love to see it,” added Simon Kinberg. It may be somewhat of a far-cry, but wouldn’t it be interesting to see a Deadpool and Spider-Man crossover? They are an immensely popular team-up within the context of the comics considering they are both wisecrackers. The real question is, what would the internet do if all of the comic universes started condensing? Could we see a Batman V Iron Man V Spider-Man V Deadpool? As long as Anthony Mackie is in there we’ll be alright!
