It isn’t about the money…it is about sending a message: everything burns! Jared Leto has some tough shoes to fill in the void of the former Clown Prince of Crime Heath Ledger. Ledger was criticized early in his casting but soon went down to be one of the most popular Batman villains ever. However, it appears that we don’t need to worry that much because Jared Leto, for all intents and purposes, became the Joker for Suicide Squad. I guess he didn’t break character till he did the DVD commentary? Joking aside, the Jared Leto Joker totally freaked out the cast members of the anticipated Suicide Squad movie.
“What Jared has done is absolutely incredible,” said Suicide Squad director David Ayer. “When he steps onto the set the world stops. Everything stops. What he’s done is so powerful, so menacing, and so palpable, you can feel him. The crew stops working and just watches him. I have to get everybody going again because he’s so fascinating.” That seems about right…everything we’ve seen from the trailers involving the Jared Leto Joker has him chewing up the scene! Suicide Squad opens up on August 5th, 2016 and stars Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ike Barinholtz, and Scott Eastwood.
