Well, we told you it was coming, and here it is: the third and final Rogue One trailer! This trailer delves a bit more into the familial relationship between father (Mads Mikkelsen’s Galen Erso) and daughter (Felicity Jones’ Jyn Erso). It seems father Erso knows he’s engaging the wrong crowd, and wants to protect his daughter from any untoward fallout while dealing with said wrong crowd.
We also have more scenes featuring Ben Mendelsohn’s Director Orson Krennic. He’s forcefully establishing a “relationship” with Galen Erso, the Death Star’s brilliant architect, and attempting to seize power from the Emperor’s current Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Vader.
And it appears the Rebellion are not only interested in Jyn for her ability to properly “rebel,” but because of her obvious relationship to the elder Erso. You see, he’s a very important man; he’s helping to design and build the Death Star, and shy of a very detailed trapper-keeper stuffed to the gills with important schematics, his knowledge might help incapacitate any larger-than-a-moon, planet-killing space leviathan.
Star Wars: Rogue One arrives December 16th, 2016 and stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed, Ben Mendelsohn, Jiang Wen, Donnie Yen, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Jonathan Aris and 10,000,000 Stormtroopers hellbent on killing everyone everywhere.
