New Batman V Superman TV Spot: The Bat is Dead

It’s another Batman V Superman TV Spot! It’s Superman V Batman for the fate of….Batman’s ego? I’m sure there’s a better reason. Oh! Because if there’s even a 1% chance that Superman could turn the east coast into a charred brisket, he should absolutely be destroyed. Or something to that effect.

What’s going on in this new 14 second TV spot? Here’s the breakdown:

1. Superman submits his refreshingly assertive warning: “You’ve lost. The Bat is dead.”

2. Cut to Ben Affleck, who replies, but in a different setting: “Don’t believe everything you hear, son.”

3. Lots of quick cuts showing copious amounts of wanton destruction. OH! There’s Wonder Woman!

4.. And is that….is that Superman writhing in pain?? Kryptonite anyone? Anyone?

5. Wait! Is that Batman punching Superman? Is that why Superman’s writhing in pain? Or, is this just some very tight editing conjoining 2 completely unrelated scenes? Is this scene of Batman punching pulled from an earlier bit where he’s kicking the absolute sh*t out of a homeless person? Hmmm.

Debuting March 25, 2016, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Amy Adams and Laurence Fishburne. Oh, and probably a lot of unhappy citizens caught in the crossfire when Superman and Batman indulge in a pee-pee contest.
