At first, any excitement we felt for a third Thor movie was…room temperature. But then the plot started shaping up, including a co-starring Incredible Hulk, successfully transforming another potentially dour Thor film into a cosmic buddy-film where the duo visits a derelict world and participates in gladiatorial games reminiscent of Marvel’s Hulk epic, Planet Hulk. And let’s not forget Thor (and Loki’s) quest for Odin on Midgard (that’s ‘Earth’ to you and me), the possible helping hand from Dr. Strange, and the introduction of Cate Balnchett’s Hela! And have you seen the costumes? They’re spectacular! Luckily, Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth, shared another image of himself in a slightly different costume, along with director Taika Waititi via Hemsworth’s Instagram account. OBSERVE!
He’s supporting the sanctity of tribal land AND apologizing for dressing like….the Lone Ranger or something. Anyway, this particular ensemble looks very much like the Thor uniform concocted by artist Esad Ribic during writer Jason Aaron’s first few runs of Marvel’s Thor series. NEAT!
Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Ragnarok debuts November 3rd, 2017, starring Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Idris Elba (Heimdall), Sir Anthony Hopkins (Odin), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Karl Urban (Skurge), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), with Jeff Goldblum (Grandmaster) and Cate Blanchett (Hela).
