Our very good friends at Entertainment Weekly just released this AMAZING new image from the Wonder Woman solo film starring Gal Gadot as the titular, currently in-training, ostensibly-an-Amazon-but-truly-a-Greek goddess! And not only do we get a shot of Wonder Woman’s formative years, we get our first look at the divine, timeless beaches of Themyscira, and Wonder Woman’s most influential and even motherly compatriots, Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen), General Antiope (Robin Wright) and her lieutenant, Menalippe (Lisa Loven Kongsli). I’m going to stop talking (typing) now. Check out the new official image from the Wonder Woman movie below!
Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman film takes place during WWI, but Wonder Woman is like 5,000 years old. This means we’re looking at a flashback that may be occurring during the birth of a Kraken…or something.
So, it looks like this is Wonder Woman before her exposure, and transference, to the world of men. Apparently, she’s been made aware of men due to the fact that they’re training her to kill. Will she bring a sword and shield to her very first date? Probably, and I wouldn’t blame her.
Wonder Woman hits theaters June 23, 2017, starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, and Lisa Loven Kongsli. Potentially Winston Churchill, but I doubt it.
Winston Churchill was around during WWI? Clearly, the author made an error somewhere.
Actually, he was quite active during WWI, just not nearly as popular- https://www.history.com/news/winston-churchills-world-war-disaster
So, this movie might touch on his history as well. I realize it’s doubtful he and Wonder Woman will meet; the comment was used more in an effort to be mildly humorous. Clearly.
