Oh, you got horror film in my period piece! You got period piece in my horror film! You got all of that mixed together with a black comedy and WA-BAM! You have yourself a big-screen adaptation of the immensely popular Pride and Prejudice and Zombies! Written by Seth Grahame-Smith, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies was originally written in 2009 and, as quoted by the author, “You have this fiercely independent heroine, you have this dashing heroic gentleman, you have a militia camped out for seemingly no reason whatsoever nearby, and people are always walking here and there and taking carriage rides here and there . . . It was just ripe for gore and senseless violence. From my perspective anyway.” This isn’t the first time one of Grahame-Smith’s books have been adapted; you might be familiar with a little movie called Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. See? Now you know exactly what page we are on! At least we have Papa Lannister (Charles Dance) in this one…oh, and apparently Circe. Fun Fun!

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is due out sometime in 2016 and stars Lily James, Sam Riley, Jack Huston, Bella Heathcote, Douglas Booth, Matt Smith, Charles Dance, and Lena Headey. I wonder if they’ll run into Simon Pegg?
