Talented Concept Artist Jerad Marantz was tasked with creating the look of En Sabah Nur, the world’s very first Mutant and dogmatic, somewhat charismatic villain in the latest X-flick, X-Men Apocalypse. Tasked with creating a visual template for costume designer Louise Mingenbach, Marantz took full advantage of the opportunity and granted us a finished product teeming with comic book accuracy; it’s a look that, in my humble but uncannily accurate opinion, far exceeds the film’s decided-upon design. But that’s enough out of me; let’s check out the X-Men Apocalypse Concept Art presenting an Apocalypse that could have been!
So, what do you think about Marantz’s crack at Apocalypse? Better than what appeared in his titular X-film? Worse? Are you suffering from temporary blindness or an inability to appreciate incredible works of art that, for reasons unknown, are passed over for blatant mediocrity?? Let me know beloooooow!
NOW PLAYING, X-Men Apocalypse stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Olivia Munn, and Lucas Till. We’ve heard some great things about the performances of James McAvoy’s Professor X and Michael Fassbender’s Magneto as well as newcomers Tye Sheridon (Cyclops) and Sophie Turner (Jean Grey). Maybe a little more Jubilee next time, huh?
