Here it is: the first trailer for ALIEN: COVENANT, director Ridley Scott’s sequel to 2012’s Prometheus, the sort-of-sequel to Scott’s Alien series. What did we learn? We learned the following:
The colonists arrived to procreate. Unfortunately, the xenomorphs are willing and able to procreate, just not in a healthy way. IÂ mean, humans aren’t built for carrying acid-filled progeny to term.
The xenomorphs really want to procreate. I mean, they reallly, REALLY want to procreate. And, if you’re not a willing host body, they’ll probably chew off your eyelids with their extendable mandibles.
So, what do you think? Does this carry the tone of Prometheus? And just where the hell is Elizabeth Shaw (Naoomi Rapace)? Sure, David (Michael Fassbender) is there, but where’s the sole human survivor of the Prometheus??
Directed by Ridely Scott, ALIEN: COVENANT debuts on May 19th, starring Michael Fassbender, James Franco, Naomi Rapace (really?), Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Katherine Waterston, Guy Pearce, and Demián Bichir.
