Let the Superhero shows flow! According to a recent report, it looks like ABC’s Freeform (formally ABC Family) will be picking up a Cloak and Dagger show! Pushed straight through by Disney, the Cloak and Dagger show will follow the two moderately known mutants, Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson, as they try to make their way through the world. With synergistic powers (Cloak can create pockets of shadow and Dagger can create pure light), Cloak and Dagger is an interesting direction to take for Disney and TV shows and I wonder how the deal works considering FOX has rights to the term ‘mutants‘? I guess the devil is in the details!
According to Variety, “The live-action interracial romance follows the duo, two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers while falling in love — Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to engulf others in darkness. They quickly learn they are better together than apart, but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging.” There is no writer currently attached though Marvel Studios and ABC Signature Studios are currently in the process of production. Makes you wonder if they will connect Cloak and Dagger to the greater MCU…
