Ah, Star Wars info; it always has a roundabout way of coming around! This recent tidbit of knowledge regards the canceled Star Wars series, Star Wars Underworld. The Star Wars Underworld TV show would have revealed a seedy underbelly of the Star Wars Universe. It’s a real shame they canceled the show since it would have been nice to see Nar Shadda! Believe it or not, the quote below comes to us from Cory Barlog. Who is Cory Barlog? The Star Wars Underworld TV show writer? The Star Wars Underworld TV show producer? How about the Star Wars Underworld video game designer! See what I mean about the roundabout information?

“When I was working at Lucas, I was allowed to go up to the ranch and read the scripts for the [canceled live-action Star Wars] TV show,” stated the game designer Cory Barlog who is currently helming the God of War 4 project. “It was the most mind-blowing thing I’d ever experienced. I cared about the Emperor. They made the Emperor a sympathetic figure who was wronged by this ****ing heartless woman. She’s this hardcore gangster, and she just totally destroyed him as a person. I almost cried while reading this. This is the Emperor, the lightning out of the fingers Emperor. That’s something magical. The writers who worked on that, guys from The Shield and 24, these were excellent writers.”

My knee-jerk reaction would be this: we wouldn’t need to see a sympathetic Emperor Palpatine, but if the writing was good who cares! Unfortunately, I doubt we will ever see a live-action Star Wars TV show considering their focus on the films. Of course I write this and I’m sure they are feverishly developing a Netflix series in some dark back room inside a cantina on Tatooine
