Ain’t nothing gunna break my stride – ain’t nothing gunna hold me down! You know, I’m not quite sure why I started this off with that statement but it does serve its purpose! Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice has seen a slightly higher than average drop off during its 2nd week but still has made more money than the entire runs of Ant-Man, Thor, and Captain America. Industry analysts typically project a decrease in sales and the Batman V Superman drop is no different. Taking in 51.3 million domestically and 85.3 million internationally, Batman V Superman fell 69%. Again, that seems to be par for the course; Avengers: Age of Ultron dropped 59% in its 2nd week while The Dark Knight dropped 53% and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 dropped 70%. At a current haul of 682.9 million globally, Batman V Superman has also surpassed the entire run of Man of Steel which made 668 million.

Warners Domestic Distribution Chief Jeff Goldstein responded, “We’re not concerned with the drop. No matter how you slice it, to get to $52 million on any given weekend is an enormous accomplishment. We’re most focused on where we are in total. And our global number is huge.” No matter how you slice it, BvS has been a financial success even though it has been generally critically panned. I guess with the drop, now’s the time to see Batman V Superman!
