Here it is, the final Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows Trailer recently released by Paramount Pictures. Thanks, Paramount Pictures! Yes, it’s the Turtles vs. Shredder, his frustratingly ubiquitous Foot Clan, the newly mutated Rocksteady & Bebop, and an alien vanguard fleet led by a brain-sized squid colored very much like bubble gum (complete with an overabundance of saliva). Look up! Press play! Enjoy!
Firstly, they’re in the midst of plane-hopping. Not really sure why, as the context is currently lost on me. Honestly, it looks a little dangerous, and I’m quite sure a skateboard is completely useless in this situation.
Secondly, it seems Shredder knows all about Krang. In fact, this trailer implies they’re working in concert. Perhaps Krang (brain-sized squid colored very much like bubble gum) granted Shredder the technology necessary in creating Bebop and Rocksteady. Perhaps.
Thirdly, Bebop is taking it upon himself to bring back the Mohawk. Michelangelo thanks him for soldiering on with this inelegant fashion choice, peaking Bebop’s ire and kick-starting the airborne butt-kicking bonanza. Yep, they’re on a plane. Hmmmm.
Looks like Rocksteady found a tank on a plane, who then foolishly opened fire inside the plane and nearly destroyed the plane. Poor plane.
And then the tank ends up in a river. Poor tank.
Krang is here! He’s kind of terrible looking and completely without a super-villain’s tried and true aesthetic. There will be no mustache twirling or incessant pontification regarding devious machinations by an alien squid encased in a spinning, morningstar-wielding super-armor. Nope.
