It's Happening! Warner Brothers Confirms Affleck's Solo Batman Film!

There’s been a good deal of speculation milling about regarding Ben Affleck’s solo, filmic Batman endeavor. Sure, Batman V Superman took some critical lumps and rightly so, but a bright spot (layered in an especially dark mythos) expressed itself through Ben Affleck’s portrayal of Batman in the “mildly” contested film. Yes, Ben Affleck’s Batman was older, wiser, but significantly more warped and brutal. This was a Batman with perspective and the scars earned through acquiring it. So, with critics and fans being united in their positivity, Warner Brothers, along with Zack Snyder, pressed for the creation of Ben Affleck’s solo Batman film. Were they successful? Yes and YES!

Warner Brothers CEO Kevin Tsujihara took to the stage and made the announcement during this year’s CinemaCon in Las Vegas, stating, “We’re working with Ben Affleck on a standalone Batman movie.” He then confirmed that Affleck would lead the Batman standalone film, but also added that “at least 10” DC Films were in development to be released within the next five years. Hmmm. Very interesting.

Will Affleck be directing? Oh, yes. This confirmation comes from Hollywood Reporter’s Pamela McClintock.

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Amy Adams and Laurence Fishburne. Oh, and probably a lot of unhappy citizens caught in the crossfire when Superman and Batman indulge in a pee-pee contest.
