Miles Teller Talks Fantastic Four Fallout

Poor Miles Teller. If he isn’t getting trapped in an apartment with a one-night stand or making deals with that Zac Efron fella he’s getting Fantastic Four brought up! Can’t the poor guy just catch a break? Teller recently tried out for the part of a young Han Solo but one can’t help but feel like he has a certain cloud over his shoulder. Not like a giant-smoke cloud Galactus kinda cloud but something else…perhaps that other Fantastic Four? Directed by Josh Trank, the Fantastic Four reboot was a critical and commercial disaster.

“People think that when you make something like a Fantastic Four that doesn’t do well, people think ‘Oh you phoned it in’ and it couldn’t be more untrue,” stated Miles Teller. “You work harder on the bad films, or the films that turn out maybe not the way you intended, because something’s not working. And I thought it was kind of unjustly critiqued that way; there are even bigger bombs if you’re looking at how much money went into the production and what they reaped back. But I think it’s unfortunate a movie like that becomes a scarlet letter on a resume when so many talented people worked really hard and maybe a handful of people took it in a negative direction. But so many people worked really hard on that that are so talented.” Well, at least he still has a stiff upper lip about it and he didn’t explode like Josh Trank! I wonder if we will ever see a good Fantastic Four movie? Still, I’m not quite sure how I feel about Miles Teller being a young Han Solo…

  1. How about next time don’t accept a job on such a poorly written movie. The new Fantastic Four movie would have been decent if it wasn’t named “Fantastic Four”. You can’t change characters so drastically and expect people to respond positively. There was nothing “Fantastic Four” about the new movie. How about just follow the comic book script and people might not be so upset.

  2. I loved the new fantastic four reboot, i thought it was much better tgan tbe other two. And loved the new direction it took, not everyone should listen to critiques there not always right!

    • I’ll definitely give it to them for that – they took a different direction than the first two movies. It seems like they can’t ever please everybody with Marvel’s First Family 🙁
