If you’ve ever spent any time watching Star Wars then I can understand why you clicked to see the Star Wars: Battlefront X-Wing VR Teaser! Produced by DICE and utilizing the new PS4 virtual reality system, the Star Wars: Battlefront X-Wing VR Teaser promises to engage gamers in something we’ve only really dreamed of – to fly an X-Wing! Sure, we’ve been flying X-Wings, TIE Fighters, Y-Wings, and Snow Speeders for years now but we could never look around while playing…and actually look! I wonder if we will be able to hear Porkins yell ‘THEY CAME FROM BEHIND’ in stunning surround? Probably need a 5.1 setup for that! Still, the Star Wars: Battlefront X-Wing VR Teaser shows off a small chunk of the game and has a real-life orchestra accompany it.
Unfortunately, details are fairly scant outside of the Star Wars: Battlefront X-Wing VR Teaser. We know it is being produced by DICE and it will use the PS4 VR…but that’s about it. Will we get to fly other spacecraft or are we just limited to the X-Wing? Guess we will have to wait till it comes out and just continue to watch the Star Wars: Battlefront X-Wing VR Teaser over and over again and use our imaginations. I just hope that we’ll get to fly a TIE Fighter if only for that sound effect! I think that would be worth the price of admission there, no?
