Marvel will have a prodigious presence at San Diego Comic-Con this year, filling up Hall H with a visual and informational feast pertaining to future filmic, comic, and television endeavors. One such television series receiving a considerable amount of attention will be Marvel’s Luke Cage; the invulnerable, street-based hero will be continuing his adventures on the small screen when his Netflix series debuts September 30th. Recently, the very first poster for the Netflix series Luke Cage was revealed to our good friends over at TV insider; this very poster will be gracing the Marvel Booth during the anticipated convention. OBSERVE!
Who’s responsible for such an amazing, intimidating graphic? That would be Marvel Entertainment chief creative officer Joe Quesada, who added, “There’s always great pressure with superhero posters. You’ve got one shot to encapsulate a character with a pose that’s provocative and that you hope will someday be iconic. Mike gives Luke a smoldering strength. He’s sexy and calming. And the ladies love it.”
Ready for Luke Cage to deflect bullets, billboards, cattle, and oncoming traffic from this nearly invulnerable, diamond-hard chest? Yep, me (and we) too!
Luke Cage debuts September 30th on Netflix and stars Mike Colter (Luke Cage), Alfre Woodard (Mariah Dillard) Frankie Faison (Pop), Simone Missick (Misty Knight), Theo Rossi (Alvarez), Erik LaRay Harvey (Diamondback), Frank Whaley (Detective Scarfe), and Mahershala Ali (Cornell Stokes).
